This Snyder home was designed for a brand-new chapter.
Following a major life transition, the homeowner wanted a space that felt entirely her own—warm, expressive, comfortable, and full of the art, music, color, and collected pieces she loves. The home became an opportunity to start fresh while creating a setting that felt rooted, personal, and genuinely joyful.
Her appreciation for Craftsman-style homes became the foundation of the design. Warm woods, honest materials, handcrafted details, and a strong connection between rooms gave the home its sense of character. From there, we layered in her love of music, graphic artwork, mid-century furnishings, and bold color to create interiors that feel collected rather than overly coordinated.
The finished home is bright, playful, and deeply personal. It does not take itself too seriously and that is exactly what makes it work.
The Design Concept
The design concept centered around creating a fresh interpretation of Craftsman style.
Traditional Craftsman homes are known for warm wood, natural materials, built-in details, and interiors that feel grounded and welcoming. We used those ideas as the starting point, then introduced a much more colorful and eclectic point of view.
Natural wood cabinetry, vertical wood paneling, warm flooring, and simple architectural forms create continuity throughout the home. Against that warmer foundation, bold tile, sculptural lighting, graphic rugs, colorful furniture, and pop-art-inspired pieces bring energy and personality into each room.
The result feels respectful of the home’s Craftsman influence without trying to recreate a period interior. It is warm and familiar, but also fresh, playful, and unmistakably hers.

A Home Built Around Art and Music
Art was never meant to be an afterthought in this home.
The homeowner’s collection of music posters, graphic prints, and pop art became a central part of the design direction. Rather than treating the artwork as decoration added at the end, we planned furniture placement, wall treatments, lighting, and color around the pieces she already loved.
In the main living and dining space, a warm wood-paneled feature wall creates the perfect backdrop for a collection of framed music and cultural artwork. The wood brings depth and architectural interest to the open room while allowing the graphic art to stand out.
A sculptural pendant, vintage-inspired furnishings, orange dining chairs, and a geometric blue rug continue the playful energy without overwhelming the space. The white fireplace and surrounding walls provide a quieter backdrop, keeping the room balanced and allowing the artwork, furnishings, and wood tones to share attention.
Every piece feels collected over time rather than selected from one matching set—which, honestly, is usually where the best rooms begin.
A Home for the Next Chapter
This project was about more than updating finishes or selecting furniture. It was about helping the homeowner create a space that felt like a reflection of who she was becoming.
The home gave her the freedom to make choices based entirely on what she loved: warm wood, expressive art, good music, Craftsman details, bright color, and rooms that feel comfortable rather than overly formal.
By combining natural materials, playful patterns, meaningful artwork, and thoughtful space planning, we created a home that feels grounded but never predictable.It is warm. It is colorful. It has a great record collection.Most importantly, it feels completely and confidently hers.
